How to get bronzed glowing skin overnight

We’ve finally come into the summer months but the sun rarely sticks around in this country! We all long for a day of catching a little vitamin D and a healthy glow so heres a few secrets to faking the healthy holiday tan and helping you to feel that little bit more confident when its comes to flashing the flesh.

Prep

Before applying any tanning products exfoliating is a big must. Look out for and target the dry patches as this will ensure your skin is left silky smooth and the tan will not cling to any dry areas. If you do have dry spots be sure to moisturise daily, a few days before you plan to tan. It is worth mentioning that it’s a big no no to moisturise before, as this will affect it sitting properly on your skin - make sure your skin is dry and product free before application.

I have been enjoying Body Shop Honeymania Body Scrub which smells amazing and leaves your skin feeling extra soft.

Products for your body

I have recently discovered a brand called Bondi Sands through Instagram. They are an Australian brand but have recently launched in Superdrug. Having heard such good things I had to try it! I picked up the Self Tanning Foam in Dark. This has a mild coconut scent, no sign of the usual biscuity smell. Applied with a mitt it glides on smoothly covering all ares - the longer you leave on the darker the colour. I was really happy with this product as the colour is so natural and not orange at all as it has a slight greenish ash tone before washed off. A must try!

My usual go to tan product for summer is St Tropez Everyday Gradual Tan Body. Its great for getting an everyday glow that really is effortless and easy. Apply a layer just before bed to wake up with radiant skin!

Products for your face

Clarins Radiance Plus Booster has to be one of my favourite ever products. It is an oil that you can add into your daily skincare routine leaving you with a healthy looking glow. Simply add a few drops into your daily moisturiser morning or night. This product does leave a slight biscuit smell but a very mild one that is quickly forgotten when you realise how natural the colour turns out. A few people have even asked me if I've been on holiday when using this product! It definitely delivers what we want and without damaging our delicate skin in the sun. Win win.

Let me know if you have any secrets that you find work for you. Happy tanning!
